Lucknow: The Kakori Police have successfully solved two robbery cases that occurred within an hour of each other on March 19, 2026, and arrested two accused within 48 hours. The operation, aided by the YAKSH mobile app, marks a major success in combating organized street crimes in the area.
Incident Overview
The first incident involved Sumit Tiwari, resident of Ater Majra, Rahimabad, whose motorcycle (UP 32 KT 6754) and Poco mobile phone were snatched near Roshan Lawn on Hardoi Road in Kakori. Shortly after, Manoj, resident of Monda, reported that his motorcycle (UP 32 NW 2814, Splendor Plus) and wallet were stolen near Monda Petrol Pump.
FIRs No. 103/2026 and 104/2026 were registered under Section 309(6) BNS against unknown suspects. Police inspection teams immediately secured the scenes and formed four investigative teams.
Investigation and Arrest
CCTV footage from both locations was analyzed, and the YAKSH app helped identify one suspect, Ajay Rajput, son of Vijay, resident of Durgaganj, Kakori, along with his mobile number. His phone location confirmed his presence near both crime scenes. Acting on an informant tip, the police arrested Ajay Rajput (22) and Deepanshu alias Lucky Rajput (19), son of Manohar Lal, resident of Hata Hazrat Sahab, Kakori, on March 22, 2026, at Narouna Canal Turn during a surveillance check.

The accused confessed to committing the robberies along with other accomplices. Police recovered one motorcycle used in the crime, two stolen mobile phones, 590 INR, and another motorcycle used in the operation. Efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects are ongoing.
